Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect the bare minimum needed to keep the app stable and improve it.

• Crash diagnostics — when the app crashes, a stack trace is sent to Sentry. Personal data is automatically scrubbed. Retained 90 days.
• Anonymous usage events — things like "puzzle solved" or "game started," with numeric properties only (rating, move count). No FEN, no PGN, no usernames. Opt-out is in Settings.
• Device model and OS version — so we can fix device-specific bugs.

What we do NOT collect

• Your chess games (they live on your device and in your own iCloud).
• Your name, email, phone, or contacts. Poussée has no account system.
• Your location.
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA). There is no ad SDK in the app.
• Microphone audio, beyond in-session voice-move recognition that runs on-device.
• Camera frames, beyond on-device board scanning and AR that never leave your phone.

On-device AI coach

The AI coach uses Apple Foundation Models, which run entirely on your device. Your positions, moves, and game data are never sent to Apple, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any third party for coaching. Streaming explanations are generated locally.

CloudKit sync

Poussée uses Apple CloudKit to sync your games, progress, and settings across your own devices. This is stored in your personal iCloud, encrypted by Apple. Poussée has no access to your CloudKit data. To delete it, sign out of iCloud or delete the app.

Game Center

Player-vs-player matches use Apple Game Center. Poussée never sees opponents' real names, contacts, or Apple IDs. Game Center handles all matchmaking and identity.

Third-party services

• Sentry — crash reports only. Sentry privacy policy.
• Apple services — Game Center, CloudKit, StoreKit, Foundation Models. Subject to Apple's privacy policies.

No advertising networks. No analytics SDKs beyond Sentry breadcrumbs. No social SDKs.

Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws you have the right to:

• Access a copy of any data we hold about you.
• Delete that data.
• Port your data to another service.
• Opt out of anonymous usage analytics in Settings.

Children's privacy

Poussée is rated 4+ and appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. There is no chat, no social feed, and no way for strangers to contact a young player in the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app with at least 14 days' notice before taking effect.
